There is always something going on in ELA class! We will be writing a variety of different genres of papers, including informational essays, fiction stories, and argumentative pieces. Some papers will be created based on current knowledge and some will require a bit of research. Content for research-based papers will come from stories read in class or approved web sites.
Additionally, we will be reading a variety of fiction and non-fiction pieces throughout the year. Some we will discuss in class, others will be written about.
There will also be a significant focus on developing public speaking skills. We will be presenting some of our stories and essays to the class and will focus on basic skills such as maintaining eye contact with the audience and presenting information with enthusiasm and a clear voice. Technology will play a part in our presentations by the development of visual aids using Prezi or Google Slides.
We will once again be using Google Classroom for the majority of our class assignments. If you click on the next tab (see the menu to your left) more information about Google Classroom is provided.
